About the stones
Are your gemstones natural?
Yes. Every stone is natural corundum, beryl, spinel or garnet from Sri Lankan deposits. We do not sell synthetics, simulants or laboratory grown material.
Are they treated?
Some are heat treated, which is standard and accepted practice. Where a stone has been heated we state it on the product page and price it accordingly. We do not sell fracture filled or diffusion treated stones.
Are they certified?
Loose stones above $500 ship with an independent gemmological report. Everything else includes our own signed grading card with carat weight, dimensions, treatment status and origin.
Is the origin really Sri Lanka?
Where we list Ceylon origin, yes. We bought the rough at the pit in Ratnapura or Elahera and cut it ourselves. We also stock some Madagascan ruby, and we say so where that is the case.
Buying
Can I see more photographs?
Yes. Message us with the product name and we will send additional photographs or a short video in daylight. Gemstones look different under every light source and we would rather you saw the stone properly.
Do you offer custom settings?
Yes. We can set any loose stone we sell, or a stone you already own, in silver, platinum or 18K gold. Message us with the stone and the style you have in mind.
Can I buy a specific millimetre size in quantity?
Often yes. Message us with the size, quantity and variety and we will tell you what is available and what it would cost.
Shipping and returns
How long does shipping take?
Dispatch within two business days. Delivery is typically 3 to 7 days within Asia, 7 to 14 days to Europe and North America. See shipping and delivery.
Is shipping free?
Free and fully insured on orders over $300.
Can I return a stone?
Yes, within 14 days, for loose stones and ready-to-ship pieces. Custom work cannot be returned. See returns and refunds.
Care
How do I clean my jewelry?
Lukewarm water, mild soap and a soft toothbrush for most stones. Never hot water, and never an ultrasonic cleaner on moonstone, opal, emerald or any fracture filled stone. See care and cleaning.
Will silver tarnish?
Yes, sterling silver tarnishes naturally. Wearing it regularly keeps it bright, and a polishing cloth removes light tarnish.
