These terms cover your use of shop.oriagems.com and anything you buy from us. They are written to be read, not to be survived.

1. Who we are

Oria Gems (“we”, “us”) is the trading name of Ningbo Junyao Trading Co., Ltd., a company registered in Ningbo, Zhejiang Province, China, whose registered address is D216, Room 501, Building 1, No. 88 Meishan Qixing Road, Meishan Subdistrict, Beilun District, Ningbo City, Zhejiang Province, China. We source in Ratnapura, Sri Lanka, cut in our own workshop in Colombo, Sri Lanka, and pack and dispatch orders from our office and warehouse at Shiqi Residential District, Haishu District, Unit 105, Entrance 3, No. 44 Yongjingyuan, Ningbo, 315176, Zhejiang, China.

2. Using this site

By browsing or ordering you agree to these terms. If you do not agree with them, please do not use the site.

You agree not to misuse the site: no scraping it at a rate that degrades service for others, no attempting to access accounts or data that are not yours, no uploading anything unlawful, and no using our photographs or descriptions on another storefront.

We may change, suspend or withdraw any part of the site at any time. Orders already accepted are governed by the terms in force when you placed them.

3. Our products

We sell natural gemstones and fine jewellery. We do not sell synthetic, simulated or laboratory-grown material, and we do not sell fracture-filled or diffusion-treated stones.

Where a stone has been heat treated — the normal, accepted treatment for much of the world's corundum — it is stated on the product page and priced accordingly. Where we describe a stone as Ceylon, it was mined in Sri Lanka.

4. Descriptions, photographs and measurements

Each listing shows the actual stone you will receive. The exceptions are calibrated parcels, matched runs and made-to-order pieces, where the photograph is representative of the parcel or of the design you have chosen. Even so, screens vary and gemstones change character with the light: a sapphire that looks velvety in a north-facing window will flash in direct sun.

Carat weights and dimensions are measured by us and stated to two decimal places. Natural stones are not machined parts, so where a listing gives a tolerance — for example ±0.2 mm on a calibrated size — that tolerance is part of the description, not a defect.

Colour descriptions are our own judgement, made in daylight. They are a description, not a grading certificate. If a stone is not what you expected, use the returns process rather than arguing about the word “royal”.

5. Prices and currency

All prices are shown in US dollars and are exclusive of import duties and taxes, which are set by your country and are your responsibility. The price you see at checkout is the price you pay us.

We may change prices at any time. A price change does not affect an order we have already accepted.

Where a product is listed at an obviously incorrect price — for example a decimal point in the wrong place — we may cancel the order and refund you in full rather than fulfil it. We will tell you before we do that.

6. Orders and acceptance

Your order is an offer to buy. Our order confirmation email acknowledges that we received it; the contract is formed when we dispatch the goods.

We may decline or cancel an order if the item is no longer available, if we cannot ship to your address, if the payment is not authorised, or if we suspect fraud. If we cancel, we refund you in full.

Please check the shipping address and, for rings, the size, before you pay. We ship to the address on the order.

7. Payment

Payment is taken at the time of order through the payment providers shown at checkout. We do not see or store your full card details.

If a payment is later reversed or charged back, we may suspend the order and any related account until the matter is resolved.

8. Shipping, duties and risk

Processing times, transit times, rates and the free-shipping threshold are set out on our Shipping & Delivery page, which forms part of these terms.

Risk in the goods passes to you on delivery. All shipments are insured at our cost, and if a parcel is lost or damaged in transit we will handle the claim with the carrier.

Import duties and taxes are your responsibility. Refusing a parcel to avoid them means it is returned to us, and the return leg is not refundable.

9. Returns and refunds

The return window, the conditions, the inspection process and the refund timing are set out on our Returns & Refunds page, which forms part of these terms.

Nothing in these terms or in that policy removes or limits any statutory right you have as a consumer in your own country, including any right to cancel a distance sale within a statutory cooling-off period.

10. Custom and made-to-order work

Custom cutting, made-to-size rings and bespoke settings are made to your specification. We confirm the design, the stone and the size with you in writing before we begin. Once you have confirmed that specification in writing, the work is not returnable except where it is faulty or does not match what was confirmed.

Where you supply your own stone for setting, you do so at your own risk. We will tell you before we start if we think the stone is unsuitable for the setting you have chosen.

11. Intellectual property

The photographs, text, grading notes, layout and code on this site belong to us. You may share links and save images for your own reference. You may not use our photographs or descriptions to resell our goods on a marketplace listing without our written permission — if you are a trade buyer, ask us, and we will usually say yes and send you better files.

12. Reviews and content you send us

If you send us a review, a photograph or a message, you confirm it is yours to share and you give us permission to publish it on this site and in our marketing, with your first name and country. We will not publish your full name, address or contact details. We may edit for length, and we do not delete honest negative reviews.

13. Our liability

We are responsible for loss you suffer that is a foreseeable result of our breaking these terms or failing to use reasonable care. We are not responsible for loss that was not foreseeable, for business losses such as lost profit, or for delays caused by customs, carriers or events outside our control.

Our total liability for any order is limited to the amount you paid for that order, except where the law does not allow us to limit it — for example in cases of death, personal injury or fraud.

Nothing in these terms excludes liability we cannot exclude by law.

14. Gemstones are not medical or investment advice

Descriptions of a stone's history, symbolism or traditional associations are cultural, not medical. Nothing on this site is investment advice; gemstone values move with the market like any other asset, and we make no promise about resale value.

15. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the People's Republic of China, and the courts of Ningbo, Zhejiang have jurisdiction over any dispute. If you are a consumer resident elsewhere, this does not deprive you of the protection of the mandatory consumer law of your own country, or of your right to bring proceedings there.

16. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. The version published on this page at the time you order is the version that applies to that order. The date at the top of this page shows when it last changed.
